SUSTINOVA invites ADES to open its doors for friends and interested people in the first Sustinova Open House event.
SUSTINOVA is a not-for-profit association with the goal of promoting Sustainability in the NGO field.
With the Open House events, organisations selected by Sustinova due to their quality and work open their doors to the public. Visitors can enjoy a short presentation and, during an informal Apéro, the opportunity to discuss face-to-face the work of the organisation.
Sustinova strives for long-term collaborations and sees this event series as one of the ways to support organisations of interest to us.
ADES (Association pour le Développement de l'Energie Solaire) is a Swiss-Malagasy NGO founded in 2001 by Mrs Regula Ochsner. The goal of the organisation is to reverse the deforestation in Madagascar and to contribute to reducing the poverty levels in the country.
ADES produces Solar cookers and wood-saving stoves locally and supplies them at strongly reduced prices to the local population. The consumption of firewood and coal is strongly reduced, allowing the families to save up to one third of their income and their exposure to health-damaging smoke. ADES also takes part on several reforestation projects and fosters the environmental awareness of the population through public events and a school curriculum developed in-house.
Currently, ADES employs 160 people in Madagascar and is a Gold Standard certified MyClimate Partner for CO2 compensation.
